Description
GPD 315 Open Loop Vector AC Drive, 1/8 - 5 HP MagneTek's GPD 315 is a high performance AC drive which produces an output of adjustable voltage and frequency to control the speed of squirrel cage induction motors. By the use of IGBT transistors and high carrier frequency, this PWM design provides low motor noise and high starting torque. The current overload rating is 150% for 60 seconds. The GPD 315 provides two control methods; V/Hz and open loop vector control to suit precise speed regulation applications. In addition to speed regulation, open loop vector control also provides higher torque at lower speeds. The GPD 315 is a fully featured, low cost, compact drive. It's digital operator provides 4-digit LED status display with a built in analog speed potentiometer, as well as digital programming of almost 200 parameters suitable for many applications. The digital pulse train input provides a precise frequency input, and is the perfect solution for speed / follower applications. The seven standard multifunction inputs can be programmed to allow for 17 preset speeds. The GPD 315 also has an analog input, a multifunction output, two multifunction open collector outputs, and an analog output as standard. A RS-485 Modbus RTU serial communication port is standard with up to 32 nodes on a single network. Plug-in interface option boards designed and manufactured by MagneTek, enable the GPD 315 to communicate serially to all the major communication protocols such as: Modbus Plus, DeviceNet, Interbus-S, Profibus, SDS, and others. The option board installs directly on the drive control board via simple snap-in connectors. The GPD 315 is ideally suited for applications such as conveyors, grinders, centrifuges, pumps, fans and blowers. Its open loop vector control feature provides precise speed control making it powerful enough for a wide array of sophisticated industry control such as: material handling, machine tool, packaging, food processing, and commerical laundry. The GPD 315 is available in an open chassis from 1/8 to 5 HP at 230 VAC and 1/4 to 5 HP at 460 VAC. NEMA 4/12 also available upon request. GPD 315; the perfect choice wherever high performance in a small size is required.
